Mikaela began her journey in the beauty industry in 2005 as a shampoo girl in Oxon Hill, where she quickly mastered blowouts, marcels, and silk presses. After graduating from Paul Mitchell The School Tysons in 2010, she developed a passion for precision cutting, creative color placement, and a wide range of highlighting techniques, from balayage and baby lights to foiliage and retro styles. She especially loves the artistry of seamless color melts.
Her craft has also been shaped by time spent in Miami as a barber, where she became skilled in fades and tapers. In 2017, Mikaela earned her Master Reiki Degree, integrating energy work with hairstyling. Whether at the shampoo bowl, during a haircut, or while blow-drying, she blends both hair and energy to create a holistic experience for her clients.
Passionate about helping people, especially women and children, feel strong, confident, and truly heard, Mikaela brings heart and artistry to every service. Outside the salon, she’s a devoted dog lover, cinephile, and Sopranos trivia whiz. Her happiest moments are spent road-tripping, exploring the woods or beach with her kids and pup, and writing poetry.

Amy Hadar
Blonding Expert
A Portland, Oregon native, Amy earned her cosmetology education in 2014. Since then, she has worked with many professional product lines, but her favorite is Oway and O&M because of the carefully-selected, farm-raised, organic ingredients that are biodynamic, chemical-free, environmentally-conscious, and vegan.
Amy is an avid animal lover and enjoys working with hair products that are PETA-certified. Ask her about her adorable cat, Honeybuns!
Amy started at our location in February 2020 and is our resident bayalage expert. Amy is a vivid color queen who frequently enjoys switching up her own hair color, which is so much fun to see.
Amy looks forward to brightening your lovely locks and showing you the best way to maintain your color with the most wonderful organic products in the industry!
Sima Farid
Special Occasion Hair Specialist
In 1984 Sima Farid moved to Virginia from Iran. Her nurturing, warm personality, caring nature, and creative talents naturally led her to pursue a career in the beauty industry. In 2000, she graduated from a cosmetology school and started her career in a Washington, D.C. salon. Over the next ten years, Sima worked as a hair stylist and discovered her passion and talent for special occasion hair styling.
Sima always wanted a family, so in 2010 she decided to leave the beauty industry to start a real estate career that would allow her to devote more time for raising her two beautiful daughters. Now, she is a proud Grandma!
Recently, Sima’s passion for hair and desire to help people began to call her back to the beauty industry. Sima has also embraced healthy, non-toxic, organic hair products so she is a great fit for our team at Holistic Hair Studio!
Leah Lattus

Leah Lattus stands as the visionary behind Holistic Hair Studio, a sanctuary she established to revolutionize hair care. Commencing her journey in 2002, Leah initially immersed herself in renowned professional hair care brands, what she terms "traditional products." Through extensive training and nationwide travel for these classes, she honed an array of remarkable techniques utilizing these conventional resources. It wasn't until after 16 years of employing them that Leah became acutely aware of the health hazards they posed. "They don't teach you that!" she emphasizes.
Since 2018, Leah has dedicated herself to cultivating a secure haven, exclusively employing biodynamic products in her practice. In 2021, the doors of Holistic Hair Studio swung open, extending a warm invitation to fellow stylists and clients to experience a boutique salon free from toxic elements. This studio transcends mere hair care; it embraces the holistic well-being of the body, the planet, and all its inhabitants. Leah underscores the profound impact of what we apply to our hair and skin on our entire being.
At Holistic Hair Studio, our stylists are independent, self-employed professionals. This means each stylist sets their own hours, prices, and decides which services they wish to offer. As a result, rates may vary from one stylist to another based on their expertise, specialty, and the services provided.
